The Beatles in America
The Beatles were more popular in America than most anywhere else. While the Soviet Union hated them, the United States couldn't get enough of them. Leaders in America knew how the Beatles impacted the public and, while many applauded them, some disliked them. They had a stupendous effect on the public's beliefs, even creating the modern hippie. A wave of anti-war sentiment swept the nation once more, and, what with the government being a democracy, leaders could do nothing but listen- just like everyone else.
